ROOTED: Grounded in the Authority of Scripture and the Unshakable Foundation of the Early Church

A Note from Dr. Barry Wissler:

Colossians 2:6-7 - “As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed …”

There is a dangerous trend in our generation — a belief that anything ancient or traditional must be discarded in favor of what is new. Yet, throughout history, when God moves, it may appear new to us, but it is often simply a rediscovery of what has always been true.

Rather than seeking voices that simply affirm our desires, we are called to build our faith on solid foundations — in the Word and by the Spirit. At HarvestNet International, we are committed to both. We believe the Church must be rooted deeply in truth, growing strong in Spirit-led conviction, and grounded in historic, biblical Christianity.

Welcome to ROOTED. Let’s seek the ancient paths together.

Keynote Speakers

  • Pastor Tim Valentino is a grace-loving husband, father, grandfather, seminary professor, speaker, and incurable Phillies fan. His research interests include biblical studies, homiletics, apologetics, and cultural engagement. Tim has served in pastoral ministry since 1992. His passion is to teach and preach the Scriptures in such a way that listeners might be captivated by the gracious character of God and transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. His calling is best summarized in the apostolic mandate: “Tell the people the full message of this new life” (Acts 5:20). Tim has also been a professor at Evangelical Seminary since 2007, teaching a variety of Bible, theology, and pastoral ministry courses.

  • Dr. Barry Wissler is the founding president of HarvestNet International, a network of churches, ministries, and businesses partnering together for the harvest. Having founded and pastored Ephrata Community Church for 37 years, Barry passed leadership to a successor and now focuses on training emerging leaders and building organizational teams. HNI serves churches and leaders from across the globe. Holding theological degrees from Geneva College and Westminster Theological Seminary, as well as a Doctorate of Ministry from United Theological Seminary, Barry’s passion is to produce churches that are faithful to sound doctrine while also being receptive to the work of the Holy Spirit. Barry and his wife, Cheryl, regularly minister at pastor and leadership conferences in India, Europe, Africa, and Central America. Cheryl also founded Seeds of Hope, which serves the poor in regions of India and Africa.

  • Jo Ann Kunz has been a part of the Hosanna! Church family since 1980. She has served the congregation in many capacities for over 40 years – nearly 30 of those as Senior Pastor. Jo Ann is an experienced scholar-practitioner, having served for 25 years as a ministry leader, spiritual director, and educator for a variety of academic and faith- based organizations. She specializes in the fields of Christian Spirituality, Spiritual Formation and Direction, and Leadership at locations including Eastern University,Oasis Ministries, and Evangelical Seminary, and serves as Core Faculty at Kairos University.
Jo Ann holds a master’s degree from Chestnut Hill College and is a perpetual learner, believing that there is always something more to for us to receive when we come together in the presence of God.

  • Katie Luse grew up in The Salvation Army in Philadelphia, PA. She is a third generation minister and cherishes her spiritual heritage which gave her a love for the poor, a strong belief of women in leadership, and a heart for creative arts ministry. She continues to serve The Salvation Army through directing Theater Arts presentations for children, which result in thousands of salvations. Katie’s desire is to be a good wife, mom, and friend to others. She hopes that her life will create a legacy of Christ- followers for many generations to come. Katie often says that people’s favorite thing about her messages is often simply the ‘pauses’, and her greatest contribution in her emotional healing ministry is a tool called ‘step aside’. “To me, it’s not about what I have to bring, but who I bring with me. Friendship with the Holy Spirit is my greatest passion and aspiration.”

  • Tony Blair has served for 40 years as a pastor throughout southcentral Pennsylvania and also as a mentor to other pastors. He and his family began attending Hosanna! church in 2005 after moving to Lititz, and he later accepted the call to be a Senior Pastor in 2007 alongside Jo Ann Kunz. Tony also serves as Legacy President and Lead Doctoral Faculty at Kairos University. He has earned doctorates in both history and leadership, is a trained spiritual director, and a
    published author.

He is notoriously fond of Johnny Cash, Star Trek, hiking, and pizza!
